I've always been the type of person that dabbles in anything and everything creative- from being a music major, to computer programming and designing webpages. When my husband and I bought our first home in Fort Worth, TX, I became obsessed with Pinterest and all sorts of DIY projects (that's when I started using resin- see previous post😉). Last year, for Christmas, I made my family all sorts of awesome necklaces. Now that my daughter, Kara, is older, we've really been getting into those huge, chunky, ADORABLE necklaces. Being the creative being God created me as, I decided I was going to take up that craft. So here we go! I hope it's successful. I have such an amazing support group- thank you! Chunky Monkey's the name- chunky necklaces is the game ;)

Mod Podge Dimensional Magic Fail
Last year, I fell in love with the idea of using resin to make creations. I made several necklaces for some very special people in my family for Christmas in 2011. Recently, I agreed to do the "Pay It Forward" challenge on FaceBook. I got all of my supplies together in a very interesting trip to Hobby Lobby with my 3 month old attached to me in my Moby and got to work. I wanted to try something other than a regular resin and had heard about Mod Podge's Dimensional Magic. I'm no newbie to Mod Podge- in fact, one might say I have a slight, crazy obsession with the stuff- but I quickly discovered I just couldn't get DM to work for me. I continuously got bubbles when squeezing the liquid into my craft [bottle caps] and when I'd get them out, more would show up as it dried. It was VERY frustrating! I finally told myself to leave it alone, and it would work out. I got up this morning to find that my adorable craft turned horrid overnight. Every cap looked terrible- holes, bubbles, sunken... I will, from now on, stick to an epoxy resin. I've learned my lesson!
